Dulcinea Langfelder created Victoria in 1999. Addressing old age, vulnerability and the loss of cognitive abilities, this show has been presented in 15 countries and in 8 languages, and it is still available for touring! To pay tribute to the work and the issues it raises, Dulcinea Langfelder and the Jean-Pierre Perreault Foundation co-produce video capsules that discuss the importance this work has had in the choreographer’s artistic journey. These capsules present the challenges related to the transmission of a work to a younger performer, address old age and death in art and the possibility of bequeathing Victoria to ensure its legacy.
Dulcinea Langfelder founded her interdisciplinary company in Montreal in 1985. Its international reach includes more than 125 tours. All her works are of great sensitivity and remarkable artistic intelligence, as deeply thoughtful as they are stimulating and entertaining.
