Interview with Olivia Grandville

Date
June 22, 2017

Olivia Grandville, a choreographer, teacher and improvisor based in Paris, founded the company La spirale de Caroline, along with several collaborators. She was in Montreal this past May, and the FJPP had the great pleasure of meeting her for an interview. The co-founder of Les Carnets Bagouet talked to us about issues related to preserving and transmitting dance works. She also talked about differences, dance and the creative process, about teaching as a form of transmission, and about the writing of dance through means other than notation. Her inspiring and insightful perspectives offer plenty of food for thought about the transmission of choreographic legacies.
